Daytona ride routes in brief
These Daytona ride routes are day rides you can do from your base during Daytona Bike Week, with distance, ride time and a Google Maps link for each. Check road conditions and the National Weather Service forecast before you set out.
Riding tips for the Daytona area
Traffic is heaviest around Main Street, Atlantic Avenue, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard and the Speedway during the rally, so start longer rides early and plan to be back before traffic builds.
Watch for sand.
Wind blows sand onto A1A and beach approaches, especially at intersections and in turns.
Expect wind and glare on bridges.
The crossings over the Halifax River can be gusty, and low sun off the water can hide you from drivers turning across your lane.
No lane splitting.
It is illegal in Florida, and no more than two bikes may share a lane side by side.
Plan fuel on rural runs.
Top off before heading west on SR 40 toward the Ocala National Forest.
Ride your own ride.
Group rides during the rally can be large. Keep a staggered formation and leave space for the rider ahead.
Wear eye protection.
Florida requires it for every motorcycle operator.
Pack rain gear.
March brings showers on several days in a typical month, and painted lines, bridge decks and wet sand on the pavement get slick fast.
Distances and ride times below come from online mapping and do not include stops, construction or rally traffic. Check each route on your own map before you leave.
