Spring Bike Rally trip planner in brief
Use this Spring Bike Rally trip planner to get ready for the Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Rally (May 7 to 16, 2027): when to book, a budget outline, how to get there and where to park. Check for schedule updates on the official Myrtle Beach Bike Week website as your trip gets closer.
Your planning timeline
Three months out (February)
- Lock in your dates. The 2027 rally runs May 7 to 16.
- Book your room or campsite. May is the start of beach season, so the best spots close to Murrells Inlet go early.
- Decide how you are getting there: ride in, trailer, or fly and rent.
- Ask your lodging about motorcycle parking, trailer parking and cancellation terms.
One month out
- Service your bike: tires, brakes, oil, battery and lights.
- Check your insurance, registration and roadside assistance.
- Start watching venue websites and social pages for bands, bike shows and rides.
- Map a few day rides from our route list.
One week out
- Check the 10-day forecast and pack rain gear.
- Confirm every reservation in writing.
- Plan your route in, with fuel stops and a backup for bad weather.
Rally week
- Do a quick bike check each morning.
- Ride early, then visit venues in the afternoon.
- Set a plan for getting back to your room safely each night before the first drink.
Budget categories
Prices change every year, so build your budget around these categories rather than last year’s numbers:
Lodging
Usually the biggest cost, so book early, since rally week overlaps the start of beach season.
Fuel
Your trip in and out, plus day rides of roughly 55 to 175 miles round trip.
Food and drinks
Venue food, seafood dinners and bar tabs add up over ten days.
Covers and events
Most vendor areas are free to walk, but some shows may charge.
Parking
Metered spots in Myrtle Beach and paid lots near busy areas.
Gear and souvenirs
Rally shirts, leather and parts from vendors.
Bike rental or shipping
If you are not riding your own bike in.
A buffer
For a repair, a tow or an extra night if weather turns.
Getting there
Most riders arrive by road. US 501 is the main route in from the I-95 corridor, and SC 22 (the Conway Bypass) links US 501 to US 17 on the north side of Myrtle Beach. SC 31, the Carolina Bays Parkway, runs roughly parallel to the Intracoastal Waterway and helps you skip some beach traffic. US 17 is the main coastal road, with the Bypass and the Business route (Kings Highway) both running through the area. Flying in, Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) is about 15 miles from Murrells Inlet. Wilmington and Charleston airports are roughly 80 to 100 miles away.
Parking
Large venues such as Suck Bang Blow and The Beaver Bar have parking areas, but they can fill up at peak times. Inside Myrtle Beach city limits, public spaces are limited to two motorcycles per space, and metered spots need to be paid for. Trailer parking is harder to find, so arrange it with your hotel or campground before you book. Park where you can see your bike, and lock it every time.
