Daytona trip planner in brief
Use this Daytona trip planner to get ready for Daytona Bike Week (March 5 to 14, 2027): when to book, a budget outline, how to get there and where to park. Check for schedule updates on the official Daytona Bike Week website as your trip gets closer.
Three months out
Book your room or campsite first. The official travel guide counts more than 200 lodging properties in the Daytona Beach area, but the best-located ones fill early for rally week. Decide whether you will ride in, trailer in or fly in.
If you plan to trailer, start calling storage lots now. The chamber’s trailer parking contact list has included storage in Daytona Beach, Port Orange, South Daytona and Holly Hill, plus Daytona Beach International Airport and the Fastlane Campground at the Volusia County Fairgrounds in DeLand. Get your bike serviced too: tires, brakes, battery and fluids.
One month out
Watch OfficialBikeWeek.com and the Daytona International Speedway site for event calendars and race tickets. DAYTONA Supercross is scheduled for Saturday, March 6, 2027. Map your day rides and check your insurance. If you plan to ride without a helmet, confirm your policy meets Florida’s requirement of at least $10,000 in medical benefits for riders 21 and older.
One week out
Check the forecast. NOAA normals put March in Daytona Beach in the mid-50s at night and the mid-70s in the afternoon, with rain on seven or eight days in a typical month, so pack layers and rain gear. Confirm every reservation, save your confirmations on your phone and set up navigation and toll apps.
Rally week
Stop by the Official Bike Week Welcome Center at 126 E. Orange Ave. for the pocket guide and local tips. Ride early, drink plenty of water and give yourself extra time around Main Street and the Speedway, where traffic stacks up. Lock the bike every time you walk away from it.
Budget categories
Prices change every year, so build your own numbers around these items:
- Lodging or a campsite for every night you need
- Fuel for the trip in and for day rides
- Food and drinks
- Race, concert and show tickets
- Parking fees and trailer storage
- Tolls if you route through the Orlando area
- Rally shirts, pins and gear from vendors
- A cushion for repairs, towing or a cab ride home
Getting there
Daytona Beach sits where I-95 and I-4 meet. I-95 runs north and south along the coast, while I-4 links Daytona with Orlando and Tampa. Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) is a few miles from Main Street and near the Speedway. Orlando Sanford (SFB) is about 45 miles away and Orlando International (MCO) about 70, with shuttle service from Daytona Beach to both. Jacksonville International (JAX) is roughly 105 miles north.
Parking
Around Main Street, plan to park once and walk rather than circling for a closer spot. Use marked lots and well-lit spaces, keep driveways clear and never leave helmets or bags on the bike. If you trailer in, store the rig at a secured lot and ride from there, since trucks with trailers are hard to park near the busiest areas.
