Riding the DeLand and De Leon Springs Run
DeLand and De Leon Springs Run: a 63-mile mixed-road ride from Riverfront Esplanade, Daytona Beach to Granada Blvd at US 1, Ormond Beach. Plan on about 1 hr 45 min of riding, plus stops.
Leave downtown Daytona on International Speedway Boulevard, which is US 92, roll past the Speedway and head west to DeLand. From DeLand, take US 17 north toward De Leon Springs State Park. The spring there stays about 72 degrees all year, and the park’s Old Spanish Sugar Mill restaurant has served pancakes that guests cook on griddles at their tables since 1961. From the park, follow SR 40 east through the Tomoka Wildlife Management Area back to Ormond Beach, which sets you up for an evening on the US 1 corridor. Expect heavier traffic on US 92 near the Speedway, and check park hours before you go.
Open the DeLand and De Leon Springs Run in Google Maps before you leave, and check the National Weather Service forecast for the area on the day.
