Spring Bike Rally

Biker Bars and Hangouts

Most of the spring rally happens in and around a handful of big biker bars on the south end of the Grand Strand. Here is where they are, how to fit in and how to get back to your room safely.

Spring Bike Rally biker bars in brief

Spring Bike Rally biker bars are where most riders spend their evenings during the Myrtle Beach Spring Bike Rally. Below are the main clusters, bar etiquette and how to get back safely. Event line-ups change every year, so check the official Myrtle Beach Bike Week website and each bar’s own page before you ride over.

The bar scene at a glance

Biker bars are the heart of the spring rally. The big stops host live bands and vendor areas during the rally, and some add bike shows and contests. You do not need a ticket to visit most of them, though some special shows may charge a cover.

Where the clusters are

Murrells Inlet, US 17 Business

This is the main cluster. Suck Bang Blow is a large open-air venue on US 17 Business. Spokes & Bones, formerly the Broken Spoke, says it has hosted the spring and fall rallies since May 2000 and runs a bike contest and show. The Beaver Bar sits just off US 17 Business and keeps live music going through the day.

The MarshWalk

The MarshWalk is a half-mile boardwalk along the Murrells Inlet marsh with a row of waterfront bars and restaurants, including Dead Dog Saloon. It is a popular place to watch the sunset after a day of riding.

Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson and Jamin’ Leather host vendors and rally events in Myrtle Beach. On the north end, the Barefoot Landing area has drawn riders in past rallies, and Dick’s Last Resort in North Myrtle Beach is close by.

Bar etiquette

  • Park where staff direct you, and never block other bikes in.
  • Ask before you touch or sit on anyone’s bike.
  • Keep revving and burnouts out of parking lots. Horry County bans burnouts and excessive revving.
  • Tip your bartenders and servers well.
  • Respect patches and club colors, and stay out of other people’s business.

Getting back safely

South Carolina’s legal limit is a 0.08 blood alcohol concentration, and one bad decision can end your rally and much more. Decide how you are getting home before your first stop: a sober rider, a ride share or a room within walking distance. You can always come back for the bike in the morning.
