Biketoberfest ride routes in brief
These Biketoberfest ride routes are day rides you can do from your base during Biketoberfest, with distance, ride time and a Google Maps link for each. Check road conditions and the National Weather Service forecast before you set out.
Riding the Daytona area in October
Fall riding around Daytona is mostly flat and easy on the bike, but it has its own challenges. Coastal roads collect blowing sand, A1A runs through beach towns with low speed limits and plenty of pedestrians, and rally traffic stacks up around Main Street, US 1 and the Speedway. Morning rides beat the heaviest traffic, and it pays to leave room in the day for a passing shower.
Before you head out
- Fill up before heading into Canaveral National Seashore or the backroads of West Volusia.
- Canaveral National Seashore charges an entrance fee for motorcycles, and the Apollo Beach entrance station takes cards only.
- Florida law requires your headlight on at all times and does not allow lane splitting.
- On the Ormond Scenic Loop, watch for cyclists on narrow sections and for photographers shooting riders during the rally.
Picking a route
Short on time? The Ponce Inlet loop and the Ormond Scenic Loop each fit into an hour or so of riding. The Canaveral National Seashore run makes a relaxed half day, while the trips to St. Augustine and West Volusia work best as full-day rides with lunch on the road.
Distances and ride times below are approximate and assume no stops. Several follow routes the Daytona Beach Area CVB publishes for the rally, and the free Biketoberfest app lists scenic rides as well.
