Riding the Front Beach Road and Thomas Drive to St. Andrews State Park
Front Beach Road and Thomas Drive to St. Andrews State Park: a 13-mile coastal ride from Frank Brown Park, Panama City Beach to St. Andrews State Park. Plan on about 30–45 min one way of riding, plus stops.
This is the classic in-town cruise. From Frank Brown Park, drop south to Front Beach Road (SR-30) and ride east along the beachfront strip, past Sharky’s Beachfront, Crossroads and The Bike Rack. Near the east end, follow Thomas Drive through the Grand Lagoon area, passing Hammerhead Fred’s, and continue to St. Andrews State Park. The park covers more than 1,100 acres, with about two and a half miles of beach and two fishing piers. A state park entry fee applies, so bring a card. During rally week Front Beach Road can crawl in the evening, so ride it early if you want to enjoy the views.
Timing: 30 to 45 minutes one way, longer in rally traffic.
