Riding the Conway and Aynor Backroads Loop

Conway and Aynor Backroads Loop: a 59-mile backroads loop starting at Myrtle Beach, SC. Plan on about 1 hr 35 min of riding, plus stops.

When the coast gets crowded, head inland. Take US 501 west to Conway, the Horry County seat, founded in 1732 on a bluff above the Waccamaw River. Its revived downtown on Main Street is a good coffee or lunch stop. Ride north on US 701 to Homewood and turn onto SC 319, a 13-mile state road that runs through Cool Spring to Aynor. From Aynor, US 501 carries you back past Conway to Myrtle Beach. It is a short, low-stress loop that fits easily into a morning before the afternoon venue crowds build.

Open the Conway and Aynor Backroads Loop in Google Maps before you leave, and check the National Weather Service forecast for the area on the day.
