Spring Bike Rally: where to stay in brief

Spring Bike Rally: where to stay depends on how close you want to be to the action and how you like to sleep. Below are the main areas, hotels versus campgrounds and rentals, and how to keep your bike safe overnight. Rooms go early for rally week, so confirm the dates on the official Myrtle Beach Bike Week website and book as soon as you can.

01

Pick your base by how close you want to be

The spring rally is spread out, so your base decides how much riding you do each day. Murrells Inlet is the busiest area, and every other area is measured against it. Distances below are approximate road miles to the Murrells Inlet MarshWalk.

Murrells Inlet and Garden City

Stay here if you want to walk or ride a few minutes to the main bars on US 17 Business. It is the liveliest option during rally week, which also means more noise and more traffic at night.

Surfside Beach and south Myrtle Beach

Surfside Beach is only about 5 miles from Murrells Inlet. South Myrtle Beach has oceanfront hotels such as Hotel Blue and campgrounds such as Lakewood Camping Resort, and it keeps you between the south end action and Myrtle Beach dealers.

Central Myrtle Beach

The most hotel choice, but you are inside city limits, where parking is limited to two bikes per space and traffic on Ocean Boulevard is heavy. Murrells Inlet is about 16 miles south.

North Myrtle Beach and Little River

Farther from the Murrells Inlet crowds and closer to Barefoot Landing and the Wilmington ride. Murrells Inlet is about 25 miles away, so expect a longer daily ride. The north end of Myrtle Beach has resorts such as Grande Shores Ocean Resort and Apache Family Campground & Pier.

Pawleys Island and Litchfield

A calmer stay about 11 miles south of Murrells Inlet, handy for the Georgetown and Charleston rides.

Booking tips

  • Book early. Rally week overlaps with the start of beach season.
  • Read the cancellation policy and any minimum-night rules.
  • Ask directly about motorcycle parking, trailer parking and security.
  • Check how far the property is from US 17 Business if you plan to spend most evenings in Murrells Inlet.
04

Bike parking and security

Choose a place with well-lit parking near your room or within view of a window or camera. Use a disc lock with a reminder cable and a cover every night. Trailer parking is limited along the Strand, so confirm it in writing before you arrive.
