2027 dates

The organizer lists the 2027 spring rally for Friday, May 7 through Sunday, May 16, 2027. That follows the recent pattern of a ten-day rally in early to mid-May. The 2026 rally ran May 8 to 17, and the 2025 rally ran May 9 to 18. Individual venues post their own schedules closer to the rally, so check back in spring.

Where it happens

The rally is spread across the Grand Strand, the 60-mile coast from Little River near the North Carolina line down to Georgetown. Most of the action now sits on the south end in Murrells Inlet, along and around US 17 Business. Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach add dealer events, vendor areas and bars, and some riders base themselves as far north as Little River.

Main venues and hangouts

Murrells Inlet, US 17 Business

Suck Bang Blow, Spokes & Bones and The Beaver Bar are long-running rally stops with live music and vendor areas.

The MarshWalk

A half-mile boardwalk in Murrells Inlet lined with waterfront bars and restaurants, including Dead Dog Saloon.

Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson on South Kings Highway and Jamin’ Leather near the airport have hosted demo rides, vendors and rally events in past years.

North Myrtle Beach

The Barefoot Landing area has drawn riders in past rallies, and Dick’s Last Resort is nearby if you are based on the north end.

04

A typical rally day

Many riders spend the cooler morning hours on a coastal ride, then roll into Murrells Inlet in the afternoon. Venues such as The Beaver Bar keep live music going from afternoon into the evening, and vendor lots stay busy through the day. If you want easier parking and shorter lines, try visiting the biggest venues on weekdays.

05

Rules and laws to know

  • South Carolina requires an approved helmet for operators and passengers under 21, plus goggles or a face shield for riders under 21 unless the bike has an approved windscreen.
  • Lane splitting is illegal, and no more than two motorcycles may ride side by side in one lane.
  • Motorcycle headlights must be on whenever you ride on public roads.
  • The legal limit for impaired driving is a 0.08 blood alcohol concentration, and the drinking age is 21.
  • Horry County enforces rules against burnouts, excessive revving and blocking intersections for group rides, with quiet hours from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.
  • North Carolina requires helmets for all riders, so pack yours for any ride across the state line.
06

Staying safe

Rally week brings heavier traffic on Ocean Boulevard and through Murrells Inlet, and May also marks the start of beach-season tourist traffic. Ride with your lights on, leave extra space, and watch for cars turning into parking lots. Plan a sober ride home or a ride share before your first stop of the night.

Who organizes it

The spring rally is not a city event. Myrtle Beach Bike Week, a private promoter that holds the event’s trademark, publishes the dates and promotes events. Each bar, dealer and vendor runs its own program. This website is an independent guide and is not connected to the organizer.

FAQ

Questions riders ask

There is no single rally ground. Most of the spring crowd gathers in Murrells Inlet on the south end of the Grand Strand, along US 17 Business, where several large biker bars host music, vendors and bike shows. Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach add dealer events and more stops, so expect to ride between areas during the week.

Only partly. After the City of Myrtle Beach passed a set of rally restrictions in 2008, much of the spring activity moved to areas outside the city, especially Murrells Inlet. Some businesses inside the city, such as Myrtle Beach Harley-Davidson, still host rally events, but the largest gatherings are on the south end.

No. South Carolina law bans riding between lanes of traffic or between rows of vehicles. Two motorcycles may share one lane side by side, but no more than two. Horry County also prohibits group riders from blocking intersections so a pack can pass through against the signal, so plan group rides that follow normal traffic rules.

The dates are published by Myrtle Beach Bike Week, a private promoter that holds the event’s trademark. Individual bars, dealers and vendors run their own events. The Carolina Harley-Davidson Dealers Association, which started the original rally, moved its own event to New Bern, North Carolina in 2009. This site is an independent guide.
